About the role
Role Overview
You will translate software requirements into working, maintainable solutions within existing application frameworks. You’ll apply technical proficiency across the Software Development Life Cycle, gather accurate requirements, and collaborate with stakeholders to prioritize tasks and define development scope.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain back-end Java web applications
- Work with multiple APIs in a microservices architecture
- Build and run containerized services on Kubernetes and cloud infrastructure
- Write documentation and unit tests for completed work
- Communicate effectively with a remote team in an Agile environment
Requirements
- 6+ years of Java software development experience
- U.S. citizen (no sponsorship available)
- Experience with Java (ideally Spring Framework) or another OOP back-end language
- Experience with microservices
- Web development experience with modern JavaScript frameworks
- Ability to design and develop RESTful APIs
- Experience writing unit tests
- Experience with Git
Nice to Have / Preferred
- 6+ years with Java/J2EE, Spring 4.x+, REST API (Spring-based), and Spring Boot
- Front-end technology experience with React or BackboneJS
- Experience across software design/architecture reviews and project lifecycle activities
- Experience with Maven/Gradle, Jenkins, GitHub, and SonarQube
- Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes
- Strong communication and analytical skills; ability to work with diverse stakeholders
- Experience with AWS, MongoDB, JUnit, JavaScript, Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins
