About the role

Role Overview

Join iConsultera’s remote engineering team as a Java Developer. You’ll design, develop, test, and maintain high-performance Java applications while working with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable and secure software.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, and maintain Java-based applications and services
Write clean, efficient, well-documented code following best practices
Develop RESTful APIs and integrate with third-party services and databases
Collaborate with product managers, business analysts, QA engineers, and DevOps
Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve issues and performance bottlenecks
Participate in code reviews and contribute to software architecture decisions
Optimize performance, scalability, and security
Build and maintain unit, integration, and automated tests
Support CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes
Stay current with emerging Java technologies and development practices

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related field
2–5 years of Java application development experience
Strong proficiency in Java 8/11/17 and object-oriented programming
Experience with Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data, and Hibernate/JPA
Knowledge of RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, and JSON/XML
Experience with relational databases: MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, or SQL Server
Familiarity with Git
Experience with Maven or Gradle, unit testing frameworks (JUnit, Mockito), and Agile
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills; ability to work independently remotely

Nice to Have

Cloud experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP
Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or other CI/CD tools
Messaging: Kafka, RabbitMQ, or ActiveMQ
NoSQL: MongoDB or Redis
Java certifications (e.g., Oracle Certified Professional (OCP))
