Java Developer (Remote)

Role Overview

Design, develop, and maintain Java-based applications with a focus on scalability, performance, and cloud-native architecture.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain Java applications with clean, maintainable, and testable code.
• Develop microservices using Java, Spring Boot, and AWS.
• Create serverless solutions using AWS Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, and S3.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines using AWS CodePipeline/CodeBuild, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions.
• Collaborate with architects, DevOps engineers, and product teams on cloud solutions aligned with AWS best practices.
• Ensure quality delivery using unit and integration testing.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize using CloudWatch and X-Ray.
• Support modernization initiatives including Docker containerization and orchestration with EKS/ECS.
• Apply security best practices using IAM, KMS, security groups, and encryption policies.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and continuous improvement activities.

Requirements

• Experience designing and developing Java applications.
• Strong experience with AWS services (microservices and/or serverless).
• Ability to build CI/CD workflows using common tooling (AWS-native CI/CD and/or Jenkins/GitHub Actions).
• Familiarity with monitoring and debugging using CloudWatch and X-Ray.
• Experience implementing security controls with IAM and KMS.

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience with Docker, EKS/ECS, and application modernization/containerization.
• Experience with API Gateway, DynamoDB, and other AWS building blocks.
