Role Overview

Join Barclays Services Corp. as a Java Developer in Whippany, NJ to build and support enterprise-level Java applications that are critical to bank operations. You will work across the full software development lifecycle, from requirements and coding to testing and production deployment.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, maintain, and deploy Java-based applications across the full SDLC.
• Build and evolve enterprise systems by integrating backend components, APIs, and libraries.
• Create and support distributed applications, focusing on performance, scalability, reliability, and optimization.
• Improve architecture to enhance maintainability, stability, and reduce technical debt.
• Provide production support: troubleshoot issues and help ensure production stability.
• Collaborate with IT teams, business stakeholders, and technical partners on enhancements and integrations.
• Ensure software quality with unit and integration testing and monitor performance post-deployment.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Proven enterprise Java development experience.
• Strong object-oriented programming skills.
• Experience with RESTful API development.
• Familiarity with Spring, Hibernate, and Maven.
• Solid knowledge of distributed systems, multithreading, caching, and concurrency control.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and effective teamwork.

Nice to Have

• Prior experience in financial services / banking applications.
