Java Developer

Role Overview

Experienced Java Developer to join a collaborative software development team building and supporting enterprise applications and web services.

Contract Details

• 12-month contract-to-hire
• Remote (EST/CST preferred)
• Pay: $55–60/hr (varies by experience)

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise applications using Java on Linux
• Build and support REST and SOAP web services
• Implement Linux-based solutions integrating with SQL Server and XML data
• Create, consume, and transform XML for application integrations
• Develop efficient data access using Hibernate with relational databases
• Configure and manage builds using Maven and the Spring Framework

Requirements

• 5+ years of software development/programming in Java
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related technical field
• Experience with Maven and Spring
• Hands-on experience building enterprise Java applications
• IDE experience: IntelliJ, Eclipse, or VS Code
• GitHub repositories
• Experience with SQL Server, Hibernate, and data access
• Experience consuming and processing XML data
• Experience building/testing/supporting REST/SOAP services
• API testing tools such as Postman, SoapUI, or Swagger

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge/experience with Angular, CSS, JavaScript (and SML Spy preferred)
• Domain experience in insurance or financial services
