About the role

Role Overview

Conduent is hiring a Java Developer to help build and deliver the company’s technology roadmap. You will work on enterprise-class applications and services across the SDLC, with a focus on server-side web services and secure REST APIs.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain enterprise J2EE/server-side web services and applications
Participate in all phases of the SDLC
Implement and optimize REST services for client-facing applications
Build secure APIs using JWT/OAuth and related authentication/authorization patterns
Create reusable, testable modules/components
Maintain ownership of the services stack, including performance and ongoing support

Required Skills

3+ years as a full-stack Java developer
Strong hands-on experience with Java and J2EE
Experience implementing services using REST/SOAP
Familiarity with web technologies including HTML5, JavaScript, AJAX, CSS3, Bootstrap
Experience with Spring, JSON/XML, and API testing/interaction tools (e.g., Postman/ReadyAPI)
Experience with authentication/authorization and security standards (JWT, OAuth)
Experience with caching strategies and integration patterns
Ability to develop self-contained reusable components

Preferred Skills

Agile experience, preferably Scrum
CI/CD and containerized deployments
Experience building cloud-based web applications
Experience in HHS domain areas such as SNAP and TANF

Additional Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
Federal government or State-level experience
1+ year experience in Health and Human Services programs (SNAP and TANF)
1+ year experience in Eligibility and Enrollment
