Java Developer

Role Overview

Allied Resources Technical Consultants’ client is seeking an experienced Java Developer for a large-scale digital transformation. The role is fully remote and requires availability during EST or CST business hours. You will develop Java-based microservices and integrations as part of a migration from legacy systems to a modern enterprise platform.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Java-based microservices deployed in Azure
• Build, debug, and maintain APIs and integrations with internal and external systems
• Collaborate with cross-functional Agile teams (analysts, project managers, functional consultants)
• Translate business requirements into scalable, secure technical solutions
• Ensure high performance, reliability, and security of applications
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and deployment processes

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in full-stack or backend application development
• Hands-on development must be the primary function in the most recent role
• Strong Java experience (Java 17 or newer)
• Hands-on Spring Boot and API development
• Deep expertise in RESTful APIs and web services
• Experience working in Azure environments
• Strong communication, collaboration, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field

Technical Skills

• Java (17+), Spring Boot (or similar such as Micronaut)
• REST APIs and microservices architecture
• SQL and database design
• Azure and Azure DevOps (CI/CD pipelines)
• Git (or similar version control)
• API testing tools: Postman, SoapUI
• Secure coding practices and SOLID principles
