About the role

Role Overview

LivePerson is hiring a Java Backend Engineer for a fully remote (USA) role. You will design and build high-performance, scalable backend services with an emphasis on low latency, high availability, and RESTful API design.

Responsibilities

Design and develop high-volume, low-latency backend applications for mission-critical systems
Build and maintain REST-based backend services
Troubleshoot production issues and improve reliability and performance of existing codebases
Create technical specifications and maintain documentation
Participate in on-call rotations
Collaborate with the Bots & Automation team to build a next-generation bot runtime platform

Requirements

7+ years of production software engineering experience
Strong fundamentals in Data Structures & Algorithms
Proficiency in Java and Spring Boot
Solid understanding of multi-threading
Expert-level knowledge of databases: SQL/NoSQL, including Cassandra and MySQL
Experience with data processing tools: Kafka, Airflow, Apache Spark, Hadoop
Experience building REST APIs and debugging distributed microservice systems
Experience with Git and Jenkins (and other development tools)
Experience integrating with third-party APIs
Experience with Kubernetes

Nice to Have

Node.js and Python
Experience with GCP and AWS
