Java Application Developer

Role Overview

Java Application Developer (Remote / US) You will support client technology solutions by designing, developing, testing, and implementing software applications. Work spans front-end/back-end development, APIs, databases, security, and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Application Development: Design, develop, and maintain applications using .NET and Spring frameworks
• Front-End/Back-End: Build user interfaces and back-end server logic, including database interactions
• Technical Design: Collaborate with software architects and project managers to deliver solutions aligned with requirements
• Troubleshooting & Debugging: Diagnose and fix bugs, errors, and performance issues
• Testing: Perform unit and integration testing to ensure reliability
• API Development: Create and consume web services/APIs for internal and external communication
• Containerization & Orchestration: Use Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS ECS
• Version Control: Manage code with Git and collaborate with teammates
• Security Implementation: Apply security best practices (encryption, authentication, authorization)
• Support other professionals and maintain compliance with software development best practices

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field or minimum 2 years of application/website development experience

Preferred Skills

• Strong proficiency in Java and C# (alongside .NET/Spring)
• Web development skills: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Aurelia, TypeScript
• Database experience with MySQL and Cassandra
• API development with REST, plus GraphQL
• Version control proficiency with Git/GitHub
• Analytical problem solving, debugging, and performance profiling
• Effective communication with cross-functional teams
• Cloud experience with AWS (EC2, S3, Lambda, API Gateway, RDS) and/or Microsoft Azure
• DevOps/CI/CD pipeline understanding (preferred)
• Experience with AI-assisted coding such as GitHub Copilot and Claude Code (preferred)
