Role overview

IT System Administrator (m/w/d) for Linux based in Leipzig. You will operate and continuously improve the company’s server, workstation, and internal network landscape while handling support and ensuring secure, reliable operations.

Responsibilities

• Provide and maintain the server infrastructure and workstations (hardware and software)
• Receive, qualify, document, and independently manage support requests and tickets
• Ensure continuous system uptime and availability
• Develop and enhance existing systems and maintain application functionality
• Plan, configure, and maintain internal networks
• Create, manage, and maintain user accounts and permissions across systems
• Analyze and resolve incidents; perform root-cause analysis for recurring issues
• Work closely with the Information Security Officer to implement and continuously improve security policies

Requirements

• Completed training as a Fachinformatiker*in for System Integration (m/w/d)
• Strong German and English skills
• Several years of experience in Linux administration (ideally in productive environments)
• Confident working with Atlassian tools, especially Jira and Confluence
• Practical experience with automation and configuration management tools such as Ansible and Terraform
• Ability to design, build, and operate physical and virtual IT infrastructure
• Strong detailed knowledge of servers, networking, storage, and IT security
• Deep knowledge of operating systems (e.g., Linux and Windows) and common software applications

Nice to have

• Interest in DevOps (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker, Git, deployment and infrastructure automation)
• Interest in Cyber Security and information security
• Basic knowledge of data protection and handling relevant regulations and guidelines (e.g., GDPR/DSGVO)
