IT Software Developer in Test Senior

Role Overview

Senior IT Software Developer in Test within Progressive’s Enterprise Resource Organization (aligned to the M&A pillar). You’ll implement integration capabilities for M&A work, lead testing efforts, and design solutions that improve testability and enable test automation.

Responsibilities

• Implement integration capabilities supporting Progressive’s M&A growth.
• Work in an Agile/Scrum environment with developers, testers, and multiple platform teams.
• Lead testing efforts and tackle testability challenges.
• Identify risks and potential defects across software components and systems; influence development decisions.
• Review teammates’ work and recommend improvements to increase testability.
• Apply techniques across the software development life cycle to deliver efficient solutions.
• Recommend how to use technology to improve testing and automation.

Requirements (Must-have)

• Minimum 7 years related experience designing, programming, and supporting software programs/applications.
  • OR completion of a technical training program plus 4 years related experience.
  • OR Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in an IT-related field plus 4 years related experience.

Preferred Skills

• Full stack development experience with modern languages such as: C#, .NET, Angular (v14+), TypeScript, Python, JavaScript.
• Experience creating API and UI automated tests, e.g. Postman, SoapUI, Rest Assured.
• Familiarity with .NET Framework, Angular, RestSharp, MSTest, CI/CD pipelines, Reqnroll (replaces SpecFlow), and Git/GitHub.
• Proficiency with testing methodologies: manual, regression, performance, stress, and automated testing (e.g., Playwright, Selenium, Cypress).
• Exposure to cloud testing environments/tools such as AWS (e.g., SQS, SNS, Lambda, S3).
• Experience with VS Code and Visual Studio.

Remote / Location

• Remote position for US-based work only.

Compensation & Benefits

• $109,000 – $119,500 per year, depending on level and experience.
• Gainshare annual cash incentive up to 30% of eligible earnings (company performance).
