iOS Software Engineer

Role overview

As an iOS Software Engineer at A1, you will own the iOS client experience for a proactive AI chat app. Your focus is on how AI feels, responds, and performs in users’ hands—ensuring production-grade reliability, performance, and user trust.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain iOS applications using Swift and SwiftUI.
• Integrate AI-powered features via backend APIs.
• Design AI interaction UX patterns, including:
  • loading states
  • streaming responses
  • retries and fallbacks
• Optimize performance, memory usage, and battery efficiency.
• Capture user signals and feedback to support AI evaluation and iteration.
• Collaborate with backend and ML engineers on API design and system behavior.
• Maintain high App Store quality, stability, and production reliability.

Requirements

• 3+ years of iOS development experience with Swift.
• Hands-on experience integrating AI-powered features into mobile apps.
• Strong understanding of async/await, concurrency, and background tasks.
• Solid skills in iOS performance and memory optimization.
• Experience shipping and maintaining production iOS apps.
• Ability to design for latency, partial failures, and non-deterministic AI behavior.

Nice to haves

• Exposure to CoreML or other on-device ML.
• Familiarity with feature flags / remote configuration systems.
• Strong intuition for AI UX patterns and user trust considerations.
