About the role

Role Overview

TrueCar is seeking an iOS Engineer to help design, build, and launch the company’s first mobile application—an innovative marketplace for buying and selling cars with transparent pricing.

Responsibilities

Architect and build TrueCar’s iOS app
Collaborate with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to deliver user-centric features
Build intuitive, responsive, and scalable mobile experiences for vehicle buying and selling
Integrate APIs and third-party services, including:
- Payments
- Messaging
- Identity verification
Ensure performance, quality, and responsiveness of the application
Write clean, maintainable, testable code and follow best practices
Participate in code reviews and help improve development processes
Troubleshoot and resolve bugs, performance issues, and production incidents
Stay current with iOS development trends, tools, and technologies

Requirements

Extensive experience in software development with a strong track record delivering successful apps
Proficient in Swift and SwiftUI
Deep experience building design-heavy, high-fidelity iOS apps with complex use cases
Deep experience designing and building interfaces to backend systems
Exceptional problem-solving and critical thinking skills
Excellent communication skills (technical and non-technical)
Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally
Experience with code reviews
Experience with Agile; familiarity with Scrum or Kanban

Compensation

Base salary range: $116,000–$178,000 (annual)
