About the role
Role Overview
Join Whatnot’s App Platform team to build the foundational iOS infrastructure that other product teams depend on. You’ll develop and maintain core components, improve reliability at scale, and collaborate with feature teams to enable fast development without sacrificing quality.
Responsibilities
- Architect and maintain iOS core components and the Whatnot Design System
- Improve networking and data persistence layers to enhance app performance
- Lead initiatives to increase app stability and reduce crashes
- Collaborate with product teams to implement infrastructure that streamlines development
- Maintain shared architecture standards to ensure cross-platform consistency and quality
- Participate in code reviews, testing, and documentation
- Support localization efforts for global accessibility and usability
- Stay current with iOS development trends and apply best practices
Requirements
- BS in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Proficiency in Swift
- Strong understanding of iOS fundamentals and SwiftUI-based UI architecture
- Proven ability to deliver user-facing features effectively
- Strong product instincts and user-first mindset
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
- Experience improving app stability and reducing crashes
- Familiarity with app networking and persistence layers
Nice to Have
- Experience with e-commerce or social products
- Knowledge of A/B testing frameworks, analytics instrumentation, or growth experimentation tools
Work Location / Remote Policy
Remote is available, or you can work from global office hubs in the US/other locations if you’re within commuting distance of offices in New York, Seattle, San Francisco, or Los Angeles.
