iOS Engineer - Offroad

Role Overview

onX is seeking an iOS Engineer for the Offroad team. You’ll help deliver reliable, high-confidence trail navigation and land-use intelligence for Overlanders and Trail Riders, focusing on improving the user experience in the onX Offroad app.

Responsibilities

• Develop user-facing iOS features in the onX Offroad app using SwiftUI and UIKit
• Integrate with internal platform services and third-party APIs to create connected app experiences
• Write high-quality code, tests, and promptly review pull requests
• Participate in iOS team architecture and code standard discussions
• Contribute to quarterly planning by proposing technical solutions aligned with product goals
• Collaborate with partners across the organization using strong written and verbal communication
• Use AI thoughtfully in daily work, integrating experimentation with validation and sound judgment

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience)
• 5+ years of professional software development experience
• iOS development focus for at least 2+ years
• Strong curiosity for new technologies, including AI
• Ability to demonstrate onX’s values
• Permanent US work authorization required
• Ability to travel quarterly for multiple days to a corporate office or strategic location

Nice to Have

• Experience with mapping software/apps
• Experience with analytics and client events
• Background writing unit/integration/UI tests (e.g., XCTest, Quick/Nimble)
• Awareness of REST/GraphQL API design from a mobile consumer perspective
• Experience partnering closely with product and design
• Comfort working on consumer-facing apps with a large user base
• Experience working effectively with distributed teams
