About the role
Role Overview
Join Mozilla as an iOS Engineer (Mobile), designing, building, and maintaining native iOS/iPadOS applications with high standards for quality and user experience. You’ll work with a distributed, cross-functional team to ship features, improve performance, and support product growth.
Key Missions & Responsibilities
- Design, write, and maintain sophisticated iOS/iPadOS mobile application code
- Collaborate with the team to build new features that enhance user engagement
- Work closely with Product Managers on feature development
- Conduct code reviews, fix bugs, and write tests to ensure stability and performance
- Craft and run experiments to better understand user interactions
- Contribute ideas for product improvements
Requirements
- Experience shipping native iOS/iPadOS applications using Swift
- Strong interest in modern iOS practices, including SwiftUI and architectural patterns such as MVVM
- Passion for debugging and improving code quality
- Proficiency in code reviews, unit testing, and automation
- Ability to work effectively in a distributed team with excellent communication
- Comfortable participating transparently in the Mozilla open-source ecosystem
- Ability to read and understand JavaScript and/or Rust
- Proactive mindset: ask questions and propose ideas that improve impact

- Experience contributing to open-source communities beyond internal work
