About the role
Role Overview
The Internal Operations Manager is responsible for helping the organization run smoothly by owning internal systems, automations, AI-enabled workflows, and leading cross-functional projects. The role also covers supply-chain planning, purchase orders, customer service, and support across finance, quality, and compliance.
Responsibilities
- Architect, implement, and maintain internal systems, processes, and workflows.
- Lead strategic special projects (including regulatory and label compliance internationally; sourcing new co-packing facilities in the U.S.).
- Build and maintain rolling demand forecasts and supply plans.
- Manage raw materials purchases and production schedules.
- Oversee retail and eCommerce purchase order entry, routing, and fulfillment.
- Manage customer service operations.
- Support organic certification, regulatory compliance, quality control, and product/safety efforts.
- Support finance operations for invoicing, inventory valuation, and board reporting; assist with bookkeeping/financial modeling.
- Support ERP system and coordination with 3PL partners, suppliers, co-packers, and warehouses.
- Lead cross-functional initiatives from the CEO/President, including supply-chain buildout for new innovations.
- Support continued gross margin improvement.
- Prepare board-ready presentations and reporting.
Requirements
- 4–7+ years in Operations/Supply Chain/Systems roles in CPG or startups.
- Proficiency with ERP systems, Shopify/Amazon, 3PL portals, and automation tools.
- Advanced Excel/Sheets skills and familiarity with BI dashboards.
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Startup experience; comfortable working with a lean, scrappy team.
- Ability to lead projects and manage cross-functional deliverables.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Proficient in PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
