Intern-Web Application Penetration Tester

Role Overview

You will join Unqork’s Product Security team as an Intern – Web Application Penetration Tester. The role is suited for rising seniors or recent graduates with a strong foundation in Computer Science/Cybersecurity, helping you move from theory into real-world ethical hacking.

Responsibilities

• Vulnerability Assessment & Pentesting
  • Assist with manual and automated penetration tests on web applications and APIs to identify vulnerabilities aligned with OWASP Top 10.
• AI/LLM Security Evaluation
  • Evaluate security of AI-driven features and LLM integrations.
  • Look for issues such as prompt injection, data poisoning, insecure output handling, and model denial of service (LLM-focused OWASP Top 10 themes).
• Exploitation & PoC Development
  • Safely create proof-of-concept (PoC) exploits to demonstrate the impact of findings.
• Documentation & Reporting
  • Produce clear, technical security reports including findings, exploitation paths, risk ratings, and actionable remediation steps.
• Collaboration
  • Work with software engineers to explain security flaws and help guide secure coding practices and remediation verification.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related.
• Strong interest in cybersecurity and staying current on emerging threats, risks, and attack vectors.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for conveying technical information.
• Comfortable collaborating cross-functionally and with stakeholders.
• Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
