Infrastructure Platform Engineer (Kubernetes / Cloud / IaC)

Role Overview

Infrastructure Platform Engineer focused on Kubernetes, cloud infrastructure, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC). You will design, migrate, and evolve large-scale distributed platform infrastructure across multiple cloud environments, driving complex initiatives independently.

Responsibilities

• Analyze complex distributed platform deployments across cloud environments.
• Design and execute migration strategies for large-scale infrastructure platforms.
• Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code solutions for cloud-native platforms.
• Partner with engineering teams to understand platform architecture while minimizing impact to product development.
• Identify infrastructure gaps and propose scalable architectural improvements.
• Design and implement Kubernetes-based platform solutions.
• Develop automation for provisioning, deployment, monitoring, and platform operations.
• Document architecture, migration plans, operational procedures, and best practices.
• Lead technical discussions and collaborate across platform, infrastructure, networking, and security teams.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to engineering standards and platform best practices.

Requirements

• 8+ years of software engineering or platform engineering experience.
• Strong Kubernetes expertise in production environments.
• Deep understanding of distributed systems and cloud-native architectures.
• Strong IaC experience with one or more of: Crossplane, Terraform, Pulumi, CloudFormation.
• Experience with major cloud platforms, with Alibaba Cloud preferred; also AWS (EKS) and Google Cloud Platform.
• Experience designing and implementing large-scale cloud infrastructure.
• Strong Linux and containerization experience.
• Experience with Helm and Kubernetes packaging.
• Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills across infrastructure and application layers.
• Excellent documentation and technical communication.
• Ability to independently own complex initiatives end-to-end (discovery through implementation).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience migrating workloads between cloud providers.
• Experience operating large-scale distributed data platforms: Apache Spark, Apache Flink, Trino.
• Networking concepts: DNS, load balancing, service mesh, VPC networking, network security.
• Authentication and authorization technologies.
• Familiarity with cloud security, governance, and compliance.
• Experience designing highly available and resilient platform infrastructure.
• Experience leading technical initiatives or mentoring teams.
