Role Overview
Infrastructure Engineer (Remote, USA Only) at Files.com. This is a high-autonomy, high-impact engineering role focused on designing and building the infrastructure that powers secure file transfer and automation at massive scale.
What You’ll Do
- Infrastructure architecture: Design and implement cloud-native infrastructure for core product capabilities at scale.
- Systems development: Build proprietary systems such as synchronization engines, observability pipelines, and DNS management.
- Performance & reliability: Engineer for speed, resilience, and maintainability under high volume.
- Security frameworks: Build and improve security systems that scale beyond typical enterprise needs.
- Cross-functional ownership: Collaborate broadly across teams without being narrowly siloed.
- Open source contribution: Contribute to the broader ecosystem alongside building for Files.com.
Requirements
- Strong experience designing and building production infrastructure systems.
- Ability to engineer for scalability, reliability, and maintainability (not just maintenance/fixes).
- Comfort taking ownership in a high-trust, flat engineering organization.
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience building or operating observability and security frameworks.
- Prior involvement with open source and/or community contributions.
- Exposure to multiple parts of the stack (backend services, databases, and possibly client/platform systems).
