  • Design and implement secure, scalable hybrid cloud and on-premise infrastructure solutions.
  • Support modernization and migration of legacy healthcare platforms, including VistA/MUMPS-based environments.
  • Review and validate AI-generated infrastructure outputs (recommendations, deployment specifications, configurations) for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with VA/federal requirements before implementation.
  • Coordinate with VA government stakeholders to ensure AI platform infrastructure components meet federal standards.
  • Serve as the primary infrastructure liaison between the VA environment and the LTS product development team.
  • Develop infrastructure roadmaps, reference architectures, and technical standards aligned with VA and federal requirements.
  • Collaborate with application, database, cybersecurity, and DevSecOps teams on modernization initiatives.

  • Support infrastructure integration across cloud, data center, network, storage, virtualization, and identity management.
  • Ensure compliance with federal cybersecurity frameworks including NIST, FISMA, FedRAMP, and Zero Trust.
  • Participate in architecture governance, technical reviews, engineering assessments, and modernization planning.
  • Provide technical guidance to engineering and operations throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Contribute to documentation such as architecture diagrams, technical design documents, implementation plans, and operational procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in enterprise infrastructure engineering or architecture.
  • Experience supporting large-scale federal IT modernization programs, preferably within VA or healthcare.
  • Proven ability to critically evaluate AI-generated technical outputs (infrastructure specs, environment recommendations, configurations) for correctness and compliance prior to implementation.
  • Strong experience with hybrid cloud architectures using AWS, Azure, and/or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Experience designing enterprise infrastructure involving virtualization, storage, networking, identity management, and compute.
  • Knowledge of infrastructure modernization strategies for legacy applications (statement appears truncated in the posting).
