Incident Response Security Engineer

Role Overview

ClickHouse is hiring an Incident Response Security Engineer to strengthen its Security Team’s incident response and detection capabilities. You’ll be a hands-on security practitioner driving modern security processes, tooling, and automation.

What You Will Do

• Develop processes, tooling, and automation to scale incident management and mitigate business risk
• Collaborate with Security and cross-functional teams (engineering, product, support, business operations) to define detection use cases and automate workflows
• Use a threat modeling centric approach to improve incident detection and response
• Maintain the security logging platform
• Stay current on threats and attack vectors to improve detection and attack surface management
• Handle information security events and incidents across ClickHouse products and services

What You Bring

• Background in product security, red teaming, penetration testing, and/or threat modeling, plus incident detection and response experience
• Strong knowledge of one or more cloud providers (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience securing large-scale customer-facing cloud infrastructure
• Significant development and automation experience (preference for Golang and Python)

Bonus Points

• BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or related field
• Prior contributions to open source projects
• Security or cloud certifications (AWS, GCP, Azure)

Compensation & Perks (US)

• Typical starting salary: $169,150–$191,250 USD (US)
• Premium markets (e.g., Bay Area, NYC Metro): $169,150–$225,000 USD
