Implementation Project Manager II, EDU

Role Overview

Flywire is seeking an experienced Implementation Project Manager II (Education) to partner with colleges and universities and ensure successful implementation of Flywire’s education product suite. The role focuses on end-to-end project execution in a SaaS/fintech environment.

Responsibilities

• Review sales documentation, create and own project plans, organize resources, and manage delivery for education partners.
• Execute simultaneous multi-phase projects end-to-end, ensuring delivery is on time, within scope, and within budget.
• Coordinate and manage cross-functional teams including solutions consultants, technical implementation managers, product management, relationship management, engineering support, and third-party vendors.
• Develop project scope and plans while assessing technical feasibility.
• Manage client expectations, project risk, and communication across internal and external stakeholders.
• Provide weekly status updates to management (progress, timeline changes, risks/issues, and upcoming milestones).
• Collaborate with internal departments to identify improvements, recommend solutions, and escalate items to Director/VP as needed.

Requirements

• BA/BS degree (required)
• 5+ years of project management experience
• Strong written and oral communication skills; excellent client-facing ability
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to multitask
• Ability to work independently and stay self-motivated
• Baseline technology understanding (e.g., SQL, databases, APIs/Web Services, SFTP, file troubleshooting, enterprise/infrastructure systems)
• Working knowledge of Agile and SDLC (and other software development methodologies)

Nice to Have

• Background in SaaS-based companies or Higher Education project management
• Knowledge of PeopleSoft, Colleague, Ellucian, and Banner

Location / Time Zone

• Must be located in EST or CST time zones to ensure real-time communication and overlap with UK and US education partners.
