Role Overview

As a Data Analyst at YNAB, you’ll join a small “data friends” team supporting departments across the company. This is a hands-on role spanning technical and strategic work—turning data into clear, opinionated recommendations and helping shape what YNAB does next.

Responsibilities

• Transform data into actionable, opinionated recommendations (not just reporting results)
• Partner with multiple teams to support decision-making with quantitative perspective
• Build scalable data systems that enable other teams to self-serve with confidence
• Maintain and support production data assets such as SQL queries, dashboards, and dbt models
• Use AI to improve your work, while staying thoughtful about what shouldn’t be outsourced

Requirements (Hard)

• Must live in the United States and be authorized to work there without sponsorship
• 3+ years of experience in data work in a product-driven environment
• Experience with a Modern Data Stack (examples: Snowflake/Databricks/BigQuery, dbt, Fivetran/Airbyte, Amplitude/Mixpanel, Metabase/Looker/Tableau)
• Strong ability to write and maintain SQL in production (e.g., dbt models, shared queries, dashboards)

• Experience at a small-to-mid size company / working without a dedicated data engineering team
• Cross-stakeholder collaboration
• B2C subscription/SaaS experience
• Experience designing and analyzing A/B tests
