Role Overview

Human Resources Manager to lead impactful HR operations in a mission-driven organization. The role combines employee relations, people operations, compliance, and process improvement, serving as a trusted HR partner to leaders and employees.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day HR operations and employee support/admin systems
  • Act as the primary point of contact for HR support and guidance
  • Advise leadership on employee relations, workplace concerns, policy interpretation, and management questions
  • Conduct employee consultations to resolve workplace issues with discretion and professionalism
  • Manage employee relations workflows: action plans, follow-ups, and documentation
  • Support supervisors with sensitive employee situations and implementation of solutions
  • Handle HR operations including:
    • employment verifications
    • accommodation requests
    • leave requests
    • unemployment claims
    • workers’ compensation
    • related administrative processes
  • Maintain accurate employee records in HR systems while ensuring confidentiality and compliance
  • Review and improve HR policies and procedures for efficiency and regulatory alignment
  • Coordinate employee evaluation and support performance management initiatives
  • Manage and lead HR support staff, especially during peak demand
  • Track HR metrics and communication trends; provide insights and reports to leadership

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience in human resources management or people operations
  • Strong operational HR expertise with excellent communication skills
  • Ability to manage confidential information with discretion
  • Strong employee relations experience advising managers and resolving workplace issues
  • Proven ability to train, mentor, and manage people/HR team members
  • Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail
  • Experience developing, implementing, and improving HR processes, systems, and procedures
  • Ability to influence teams beyond direct reporting lines
  • Proactive problem-solving and ability to remain composed and objective in high-pressure situations
