Human Resources Manager

Role Overview

HR on Demand is seeking an HR Manager to serve as a trusted HR partner for assigned client accounts. This remote-first role supports clients in the Austin, TX area, offering variety across multiple HR engagements.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary HR point of contact for assigned client accounts for policies, procedures, and employee relations
• Manage full-cycle HR operations (onboarding/offboarding, benefits administration, performance management)
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
• Investigate and resolve employee relations issues with discretion and sound judgment
• Partner with leadership to develop and implement HR policies, programs, and best practices
• Support performance evaluation cycles, goal-setting, and employee development initiatives
• Advise on and help administer HR systems and payroll platforms
• Collaborate with the recruiting team on workforce planning and hiring needs
• Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation in compliance with legal standards

Requirements

• 5+ years of progressive HR experience (HR Manager or Senior HR Generalist level responsibility)
• Strong working knowledge of employment law, HR compliance, and best practices across multiple states
• Experience with employee relations, performance management, and HR systems/payroll platforms
• Strong judgment and discretion for sensitive/confidential matters
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; comfortable working with client leadership
• Highly organized and self-directed, comfortable managing multiple priorities remotely

Nice-to-Haves

• PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP certification
• Based in or near Austin, TX (preferred)
