Role Overview
Human Resources Generalist (Manager) within the HR team, serving as a subject-matter expert for HR compliance, HRIS administration, and HR reporting. The role supports employee relations, recruitment, and benefits administration while helping drive a positive employee experience.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations (e.g., FLSA, FMLA, ADA, EEO, OSHA)
- Maintain and update HR policies, procedures, and the employee handbook in line with regulatory changes
- Coordinate, issue, and track mandatory compliance training across the organization
- Prepare and submit required compliance reports, filings, and regulatory submissions
- Conduct internal HR audits to identify compliance gaps and recommend corrective actions
- Partner with internal stakeholders on employment-related compliance matters
- Develop HR reports; analyze HR data to identify trends and provide insights to leadership
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of HR data used for reporting and decisions
- Act as primary HRIS administrator: manage data accuracy, system configuration, and user access
- Manage employee lifecycle transactions
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
- 4–6 years of progressive HR generalist experience with a focus on compliance and HR operations
- Working knowledge of federal and multi-state employment laws (FLSA, FMLA, ADA, EEO, OSHA)
- Experience administering and maintaining an HRIS platform
- Strong analytical skills for HR reporting and data management
- Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience supporting benefits open enrollment, recruitment, and employee relations
Preferred
- SHRM certification
