About the role
Role Overview
Human Resource Manager at Sub-Zero Group, Inc. In this on-site role, you will coordinate and implement HR policies, programs, and systems to support business objectives and strengthen plant culture. You will act as a key bridge for communication between employees and management, with a strong focus on labor relations and recruitment.
Primary Responsibilities
- Coordinate and implement HR policies, programs, and systems in partnership with managers and manufacturing floor supervisors
- Own key HR areas including:
- Staffing and full-cycle recruiting
- Employee and labor relations
- Employee development
- Equal opportunity matters
- Build a strong plant culture to keep employees valued and engaged
- Partner with manufacturing leadership to maximize labor relations for employees covered under a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA)
- Administer the CBA terms through the grievance process
- Participate in union contract negotiations
- Lead Labor Management meetings
- Manage grievances end-to-end, including mediation and grievance resolution
- Coach and influence manufacturing teams on company policies and applicable federal/state regulations
- Develop and implement personnel policies and procedures
- Serve as a resource to employees regarding management, employment, and performance
- Support a cooperative, team-oriented environment and uphold company guiding principles (Culture of Authenticity, Operational Excellence, Innovation)
- Lead an on-site HR team (up to two direct reports)
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Human Resources or related field
- 5+ years of progressive HR experience
- 3+ years of HR experience in a manufacturing environment
- 3+ years of HR experience in a union environment
- Excellent written, verbal, listening, and interpersonal communication skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, labor contracts, and procedure manuals
- Ability to collect, analyze, and report on HR-related data
