HR Specialist - Fully Remote | Upto $90/hr

Role Overview

Mercor is hiring a Human Resources (HR) Expert for a fully remote contract role. You will help design and evaluate HR scenarios and ensure AI-generated outputs follow professional HR standards and employment regulations.

Responsibilities

• Design realistic HR scenarios and tasks across areas such as:
  • talent acquisition
  • compensation & benefits
  • HR business partnering
  • employee relations
  • learning & development
  • HR compliance
  • people analytics
• Create model-facing prompts and write gold-standard responses that reflect sound HR practices.
• Review and grade AI outputs for accuracy, completeness, and alignment with HR standards and employment regulations.
• Detect subtle errors and edge cases, including failure modes in nuanced people decisions.
• Provide clear written rationales explaining why answers are correct, incomplete, or wrong.
• Collaborate with the team to refine evaluation rubrics and improve HR content quality.

Qualifications

Must-Have

• 3+ years of professional experience in Human Resources or People Operations (in-house, consulting, or agency).
• Strong depth in one or more HR sub-domains (TA/recruiting, comp & benefits, HRBP, employee relations, L&D, HR compliance, or HR analytics).
• Solid command of core HR frameworks and employment-law fundamentals.
• Excellent written communication for explaining nuanced reasoning clearly.
• Strong attention to detail; comfortable evaluating others’ work.

Preferred

• HR credential such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR.
