HR Manager

Role Overview

The Human Resources Manager will oversee all HR functions for the Barclays Center location, acting as a strategic partner to the management team. This role drives recruitment, training, employee engagement, compliance, and workforce development in a high-energy hospitality environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute recruitment and staffing strategies with venue managers to maintain a steady pipeline of talent
• Oversee onboarding, orientation, and ongoing training programs to improve development and engagement
• Ensure compliance with legal and workplace requirements (e.g., I-9 documentation), including audits and policy reviews
• Manage workforce planning to optimize performance and capability
• Coach managers on key performance metrics and business drivers
• Lead employee engagement initiatives to support retention and morale; develop action plans with leadership
• Handle employee investigations, disciplinary procedures, and grievances (including union-related matters where applicable)
• Maintain accurate employee records in the HRIS, process unemployment claims, and ensure completion of mandatory training (e.g., workplace harassment prevention)

Requirements

• Prior HR experience, ideally in hospitality, foodservice, or retail
• Experience leading remote/distributed teams (preferred)
• Strong computer literacy, including HRIS systems and MS Office
• Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills across all organizational levels
• Proactive problem-solving approach with a focus on compliance and continuous improvement
• Commitment to building an inclusive and equitable workplace

Nice to Have

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
• HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP or PHR)
