HR Generalist

HR Generalist (Remote-first)

Own day-to-day HR operations, employee relations, and compliance frameworks to deliver a high-quality employee experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end onboarding and offboarding, coordinating with IT, payroll, and hiring managers to ensure a frictionless process.
• Administer benefits programs (health insurance, 401(k), leave of absence, and open enrollment) and serve as the primary point of contact for employee questions.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws in a remote-first setting; maintain accurate digital employee files and lead regular HR audits.
• Partner with managers to resolve sensitive employee relations issues, including conducting objective investigations and advising on performance management plans.
• Own HRIS data integrity: run audits, update employee records, and generate headcount, turnover, and engagement reports for leadership.
• Draft, update, and implement company-wide policies, employee handbooks, and standard operating procedures as the business scales.

Requirements

• 3–6 years of experience in an HR Generalist or HR Operations role, preferably in a fast-growing technology or remote-first company.
• Strong knowledge of multi-state employment law, including compliance for CA, WA, and NY.
• Hands-on experience with modern HRIS and payroll systems.
• Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion and sound judgment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, including clearly explaining complex policies.

Nice to Have

• SHRM-CP or PHR certification.
• Experience supporting a fully remote workforce.
