Healthcare Virtual Assistant Athena EMR Experience

Role Overview

Snapscale is hiring a Healthcare Virtual Assistant to support U.S. clinic operations remotely. You will manage clinical and administrative tasks to ensure an accurate, seamless patient experience.

Responsibilities

• Verify patient benefits and insurance coverage accurately
• Reactivate past patients and maintain engagement via consistent follow-ups
• Handle inbound calls and respond to patient inquiries professionally and empathetically
• Perform appointment confirmations, reminders, and outbound follow-ups
• Schedule/reschedule appointments using Athena EMR
• Maintain and update patient records in Athena EMR (required)
• Conduct medical chart scrubbing to ensure data accuracy and completeness
• Process prior authorizations following payer and clinic guidelines
• Handle prescription refills per clinic protocols
• Audit laboratory results and follow up on missing/pending reports
• Coordinate clinic workflows remotely using virtual tools and systems

Requirements

• 6 months to 1 year of hands-on Athena EMR experience (required)
• Experience working with U.S.-based clinics and/or health insurance providers
• Experience with insurance verification, patient coordination, and inbound call handling
• Experience with chart scrubbing and prior authorization processing
• Experience with refill processing, lab result auditing, and follow-up coordination
• Strong written and verbal English communication
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, self-motivated
• Stable internet connection and a dedicated quiet home workspace
