About the role

Role Overview

Head of Organic Growth (Bankrate) owns the organic growth system end-to-end, unifying AI search, SEO, and content into the most high-quality, lowest-cost, and most durable source of qualified demand for the rate marketplace. You will report to the CMO and lead strategy across traditional and AI/LLM-powered visibility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the organic growth system as the highest-quality, lowest-cost, and most durable source of qualified demand.
  • Define and drive Bankrate’s strategy for visibility in AI-generated answers and LLM citations (including creating frameworks and playbooks).
  • Maintain and improve traditional search strength while expanding into AI search.
  • Own revenue and measurement for organic demand (not just traffic).
  • Build, develop, and lead a high-performing team across AEO/GEO, SEO, and content.
  • Run the function using AI and agentic workflows.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with multiple teams in support of growth goals.

Requirements

  • Revenue orientation: accountable for revenue/contribution from organic, with proof of results.
  • AEO/GEO depth: strong understanding of how answer engines work and how content is cited by LLMs.
  • Proven organic leadership: 4+ years leading teams and scaling organic search functions end-to-end.
  • Executive presence: can clearly communicate strategy, tradeoffs, and plans to the CMO and senior leadership.
  • AI-native operator: builds AI/agentic workflows into team execution and moves quickly in a fast-changing environment.
  • Builder mentality: capable of defining a new discipline inside an established organization and bringing structure to ambiguity.
