Head of Design

Role Overview

As Aurora Solar’s Head of Design, you will lead the design of the products used daily by 7,000+ solar professionals. You’ll grow and mentor the design team, set clear goals and high craft standards, and partner with Product, Engineering, and Go-to-Market to ensure the roadmap reflects real customer needs.

Responsibilities

• Lead, develop, and mentor a high-performing team of product designers; champion their work across the company
• Define and track design KPIs and deliver against OKRs aligned to company priorities
• Partner cross-functionally (Product, Engineering, Go-to-Market) to ship solutions that deliver customer value
• Evolve design operations by adopting high-value improvements (including AI-enabled capabilities)
• Integrate research into day-to-day work to continuously test, learn, and discover user needs
• Define and drive design processes, tools, and infrastructure that enable agile product development

Requirements

• 12+ years in product design, UX design, or a related field
• 5+ years building design teams and cultures that ship technical SaaS products
• Strong communication skills; ability to bring clarity to complex topics for cross-functional partners
• Demonstrated ability to define product vision, align stakeholders, and execute across audiences (engineering through executives)
• Deep experience shipping complex tools, design systems, and multi-role products across web and iOS and/or Android
