Role Overview

Senior DevOps Go Developer on the Platform Engineering team. You will architect, develop, and refine Go-based Kubernetes controllers and operators to evolve an internal GitOps-driven Kubernetes hosting platform. You’ll also build automation and developer tools, and improve reliability through testing, observability, and CI/CD.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain Kubernetes controllers and operators in Go.
• Build automation services integrating with GitHub APIs to streamline workflows, enforce policies, and improve developer experience.
• Create and maintain developer-facing CLI tools for platform interaction and productivity.
• Enforce security/governance compliance via API-level validation mechanisms.
• Apply Shift Left / Shift Right testing approaches:
  • static analysis
  • contract testing
  • observability early and throughout the lifecycle
• Collaborate with platform engineers, developers, and security experts to define best practices.
• Lead technical discussions and mentor junior engineers.
• Improve platform reliability and performance by enhancing observability with Prometheus and OpenTelemetry.
• Drive CI/CD pipelines using Terraform, Azure DevOps, and Docker.
• Stay current with emerging cloud-native practices to continuously improve the platform.

Requirements

• Go: expert proficiency; Kubernetes controller/operator development.
• Kubernetes: strong understanding of architecture, resources, and extensibility.
• GitOps: hands-on experience with GitOps principles/tools for declarative management via Git.
• GitHub API: ability to build automation and enforce policies programmatically.
• CI/CD: deep knowledge, especially with Azure DevOps and Terraform.
• Terraform: write/manage Terraform for cloud infrastructure (especially Azure).
• Azure: experience with Microsoft Azure (container orchestration, networking, security).
• Docker: containerization and Docker tooling.
• Kubernetes Controllers & Operators: proven experience building controllers/operators.
• Policy Automation & API Validation: automated policy enforcement and validation strategies.
• Static Analysis: familiarity with static code analysis.

Nice to Have

• Experience with additional testing/observability integrations beyond the listed tooling.
