About the role

Role Overview

As a Guidewire InsuranceNow QA Engineer, you will ensure the quality, stability, and performance of Guidewire InsuranceNow applications. You will design and execute testing across enhancements, integrations, and releases, working closely with developers, business analysts, technical leads, product owners, and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Design and execute functional, integration, regression, and automated test scenarios for InsuranceNow releases and enhancements
  • Validate InsuranceNow configurations, including:
    • policy lifecycle processes
    • rating rules
    • underwriting workflows
    • endorsements and renewals
    • forms generation
  • Test and verify API integrations and REST services (including JSON payloads), database transactions, and external system interfaces
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to:
    • review requirements
    • define test strategies
    • identify defects
    • support successful release delivery
  • Support Agile practices, UAT, production validations, test automation initiatives, and continuous quality improvement

Requirements (What You Need)

  • Experience testing Guidewire InsuranceNow implementations and enhancements
  • Strong expertise in test planning, test case development, defect management, and QA best practices
  • Automation/performance testing experience using tools/frameworks such as:
    • Selenium, Playwright, Cypress
    • Java, JUnit
    • K6 (or similar)
  • Experience validating REST APIs, JSON payloads, integration workflows, and SQL database transactions
  • Experience with Agile delivery and test management/defect tracking tools such as Jira
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and test automation lifecycle management; familiarity with object-oriented test automation frameworks
  • Understanding of Property & Casualty insurance processes (policy creation, rating/underwriting, endorsements, renewals, billing/payments, policy documentation)

Nice-to-Haves / Standout Skills

  • Strong understanding of InsuranceNow platform configuration and integration testing
  • Experience with regression testing during platform upgrades and production releases
  • Ability to investigate production issues and support root cause analysis
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills in a fast-paced Agile environment

Location / Work Model

  • Remote position within the United States (based on business requirements).
