Group Product Manager (Financial Engineering)

Role Overview

Join Coinbase as a Group Product Manager (Financial Engineering) for the Financial Engineering team. You will define and own the product strategy and roadmap for finance transformation, process automation, and systems improvements, leading cross-functional delivery of high-impact initiatives.

Key Missions

• Define and own the product strategy and roadmap for finance transformation and process automation.
• Lead cross-functional execution of complex, business-critical initiatives (e.g., reconciliation tools, change management aligned with SOX, and finance self-serve tools).
• Act as a subject matter expert on finance operations.
• Manage and mentor product managers, setting standards for product management, stakeholder management, and technical depth.

Responsibilities

• Influence a wide range of senior stakeholders across Finance (e.g., CFO/CAO, Accounting), Product, and Engineering.
• Partner directly with senior leaders to drive execution and measurable improvements in efficiency, cost, and quality.
• Apply human-in-the-loop practices when using generative AI tools and copilots in daily workflows.

Requirements

• 8+ years of product management experience, including 2+ years managing other product managers.
• Deep knowledge of financial products and finance operations, including:
  • financial record keeping,
  • accounting pipelines,
  • financial reporting.
• Experience building robust, scalable solutions for accounting, treasury management, and financial operations.
• Strong knowledge of accounting terminology and financial applications (e.g., ERP, accounting platforms, FP&A/budgeting tools).
• Familiarity with SOX controls and audit readiness at scale.
• Demonstrated success leading business-critical systems in a fast-paced environment.
• CS degree or equivalent software engineering experience.

Nice to Have

• Expertise applying AI/ML, RPA, or low-code automation to finance workflows.
• Curiosity and enthusiasm for crypto and Web3.
• MBA and/or professional certifications such as CPA and/or CFA.
• Experience responsibly using specific generative AI/copilot tools (e.g., LibreChat, Gemini, Glean).
