About the role
Role Overview
TEKsystems is seeking a Golang Software Engineer to design and build scalable backend services using a microservices architecture. The role supports cloud-native development within the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) ecosystem and involves modernization work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
- Build, test, deploy, maintain, and scale backend services in Go (Golang)
- Develop APIs and shared backend services within a microservices architecture
- Work with datastores and implement asynchronous, event-driven processing
- Collaborate with engineers to identify needs, prioritize work, and plan delivery aligned with product goals
- Understand business domains and how technical changes impact downstream systems and products
- Diagnose and resolve production issues and defects with support teams
Requirements
- Experience developing cloud-hosted applications (e.g., GCP)
- Experience working with a microservices architecture
- Experience with infrastructure as code and/or CI pipelines
- Experience with observability and monitoring
- Familiarity with event-based/distributed systems
- Working knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with Cloud Spanner and/or Mongo Atlas
- Experience with AI / Machine Learning and/or training LLMs
- Strong ownership mindset and ability to work independently
Location / Work Model
- Fully remote within the U.S. (or onsite at U.S. office locations)
- Contract position based out of Shawnee Mission, KS
Contract Type & Pay
- Contract
- Pay range: $65.00–$75.00/hr
