About the role

Role Overview

You will design and build scalable backend systems as a Golang (Go) Software Engineer. The work focuses on modern microservices and cloud-native development within an ecosystem aligned with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

Responsibilities

Build, test, deploy, maintain, and scale backend services using Go in a microservices architecture
Work with datastores and implement asynchronous, event-driven processing
Collaborate with engineering peers to identify needs, prioritize work, and plan development efforts aligned with product goals
Understand business domains and how technical changes impact downstream systems and products
Diagnose and resolve production issues and defects in partnership with support teams

Requirements

Experience developing in a microservices architecture
Experience building cloud-hosted applications (e.g., Google Cloud Platform)
Experience with Golang and APIs
Kubernetes and Docker experience
Familiarity with Terraform (Infrastructure as Code) and CI/CD or continuous integration pipelines
Experience with observability/monitoring and/or distributed/event-based systems
Strong ownership mindset and ability to work independently

Nice-to-haves

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (desired but not required)
Experience with AI/ML and/or training Large Language Models (LLM)
Familiarity with Cloud Spanner, Mongo Atlas, AWS, and/or Jenkins

Location & Work Mode

Fully remote within the U.S.
Contract position; otherwise based out of Louisville, KY

Compensation

$65.00–$75.00 per hour
