Golang Developer

Role Overview

TEKsystems is hiring a Go (Golang) Software Engineer for Jack Henry within the card services domain. You’ll join a platform delivery team focused on technology modernization, building backend microservices and new services on Google Cloud (GCP).

Responsibilities

• Build, test, deploy, maintain, and scale backend services in a microservices architecture using Go
• Work with engineering and cross-functional partners (DevOps, Product Owners, Business Analysts) to deliver banking applications and shared platform services
• Collaborate with teammates to identify needs, prioritize work, and plan solutions aligned with product development
• Develop a deep understanding of banking domain areas owned by your team and how domain changes impact products
• Support customer support by diagnosing and resolving defects/issues

Requirements

• Experience working in a microservices architecture
• Experience developing cloud-hosted applications (e.g., Google Cloud Platform / GCP)
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
• Experience with event-based/distributed systems
• Infrastructure as Code and/or CI pipelines, plus observability/monitoring experience
• Self-motivation and ability to work independently
• Ownership mindset from defining scope with product through production support
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science desired but not required

Nice to Have

• Experience with Terraform
• Exposure to Cloud Spanner or MongoDB (Mongo Atlas)
• Experience involving AI/ML and/or training LLMs

Contract & Work Location / Hours

• Contract position based out of Shawnee Mission, KS
• Must sit within 70 miles of a hub location (Kansas City, Monett MO, Springfield MO, Louisville KY, Birmingham AL, Allen TX, Charlotte NC, Cedar Falls IA)
• Must work CST hours and overlap core hours of 9 AM–4 PM CST
