About the role
Role Overview
Join the customer’s team as a Go (Golang) Developer in a part-time, remote contract role. You’ll help evaluate and train next-generation AI coding tools during confidential alpha stages, working closely with a research team.
Responsibilities
- Develop REST and GraphQL endpoints in a modern Go backend stack
- Implement data validation and robust error handling
- Perform database migrations and performance optimization
- Test and evaluate alpha AI models in Cursor across multiple 4-day bursts (5+ hours/day)
- Identify and document incidents, bugs, and edge cases with detailed reports, bug traces, and annotated screenshots
- Collaborate with the research team via Slack, providing real-time feedback and insights
- Complete structured surveys after each testing burst
Requirements
- 5+ years professional experience as a Golang Developer
- Strong command of Go and backend development best practices
- Hands-on experience with REST APIs and GraphQL
- Experience with AI-powered coding tools, ideally Cursor
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Enthusiasm for hands-on coding, rapid prototyping, and technical exploration
- Strong debugging ability, including complex issues
- Ability to document findings clearly without sharing confidential information
Nice to Have
- Public open-source contributions (e.g., notable GitHub repos/stars)
- Prior experience evaluating technical products or doing developer tool QA
- Interest in mentoring and sharing insights with high-trust research teams
