Go/Golang Developer - Remote

Role Overview

Contractor software engineering role (10–12 hours per week), fully remote. You will help train and evaluate next-generation AI systems by completing real-world engineering tasks, especially where you can reason through unfamiliar codebases and explain technical decisions clearly.

Responsibilities

• Work on challenging backend, full-stack, systems, infrastructure, and integration-related tasks.
• Review, debug, improve, and explain code across different environments.
• Design or evaluate practical solutions involving:
  • APIs, databases, services, and integrations
  • Testing and deployment workflows
• Evaluate and communicate tradeoffs across scalability, maintainability, performance, reliability, security, and developer experience.
• Write clear technical reasoning (why a solution works, and what alternatives were considered).
• Collaborate with the customer’s team on technical reviews, implementation decisions, and problem-solving exercises.
• Quickly adapt to new codebases, frameworks, and requirements.

Required Skills / Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on software engineering experience.
• Strong backend or full-stack experience in at least one of: Go, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js, Java, C#/.NET, C++, Ruby, PHP, or similar.
• Experience building/maintaining/reviewing production-level applications, APIs, services, databases, and integrations.
• Strong fundamentals: debugging, testing, code quality, architecture, and engineering tradeoffs.
• Ability to explain complex engineering decisions clearly and objectively.

Preferred Qualifications

• Cloud experience: AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Experience with CI/CD, DevOps workflows, containers, monitoring, or production operations.
• Frontend experience: React, Next.js, Angular, Vue, or React Native.
• Open-source contributions, strong public GitHub, and/or technical writing.
• Experience mentoring engineers, reviewing code, or making architecture decisions.
