Go/Golang Developer - Remote

Role Overview

Contractor software engineering role (10–12 hours/week, Remote). You will help train and evaluate next-generation AI systems by completing realistic software engineering tasks—focusing on engineering judgment, clear technical communication, and the ability to assess code quality and architectural tradeoffs.

Responsibilities

• Work on challenging tasks across backend, full-stack, infrastructure, and systems projects
• Review, debug, improve, and explain code across different technical environments
• Design or evaluate solutions involving:
  • APIs, databases, services, integrations
  • Testing and deployment workflows
• Identify and discuss tradeoffs across scalability, maintainability, performance, reliability, security, and developer experience
• Communicate technical reasoning clearly in writing (why a solution works and what alternatives were considered)
• Collaborate with the customer team on technical reviews and implementation/problem-solving exercises
• Adapt quickly to new codebases, frameworks, and requirements

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on software engineering experience
• Strong experience in at least one backend or full-stack environment, including Go/Golang (and others such as Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js, Java, C#, .NET, C++, Ruby, PHP)
• Experience building, maintaining, or reviewing production-level applications, APIs, services, databases, and integrations
• Solid fundamentals: debugging, testing, code quality, architecture, and technical tradeoffs
• Ability to explain complex engineering decisions clearly
• Comfortable reading and reasoning through unfamiliar code/requirements

Preferred Qualifications

• Cloud experience: AWS, GCP, Azure
• CI/CD and DevOps workflows; containers, monitoring, and production operations
• Frontend frameworks: React, Next.js, Angular, Vue, React Native
• Open-source contributions, public GitHub work, and/or technical writing
• Experience mentoring, code reviewing, or making architecture decisions
