Go/Golang Developer - Remote

Role Overview

Contractor software engineering role (10–12 hours/week, remote). You’ll help train and evaluate next-generation AI systems by performing practical software engineering tasks. No prior AI experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Work on backend, full-stack, systems, and infrastructure-related engineering tasks.
• Review, debug, improve, and explain code across different technical environments.
• Design or evaluate solutions involving:
  • APIs, databases, services, and integrations
  • testing approaches and deployment workflows
• Assess tradeoffs for scalability, maintainability, performance, reliability, security, and developer experience.
• Communicate technical reasoning clearly in writing (why it works and alternatives considered).
• Collaborate with the customer’s team on technical reviews and implementation decisions.
• Adapt quickly to unfamiliar codebases, frameworks, and technical requirements.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on software engineering experience.
• Strong experience in at least one backend or full-stack environment (examples include Go/Golang, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js, Java, C#, .NET, C++, Go, Ruby, PHP, or similar).
• Experience building/maintaining/reviewing production applications, APIs, services, databases, or integrations.
• Solid fundamentals: debugging, testing, code quality, architecture, and technical tradeoffs.
• Ability to explain complex engineering decisions clearly and objectively.

Preferred Qualifications

• Cloud experience: AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• CI/CD and DevOps workflows; containers; monitoring; production operations.
• Frontend framework experience (e.g., React, Next.js, Angular, Vue, React Native).
• Open-source/public GitHub contributions and/or strong technical writing.
• Experience mentoring, code reviewing, or making architecture decisions.
