Go/Golang Developer - Remote

Role Overview

Contractor software engineering role (10–12 hours/week), remote. You will help train and evaluate next-generation AI systems by completing realistic software engineering tasks.

Responsibilities

• Work on challenging engineering tasks across backend, full-stack, infrastructure, and systems projects
• Review, debug, improve, and explain code in different technical environments
• Design or evaluate solutions involving:
  • APIs, databases, services, and integrations
  • Testing and deployment workflows
• Identify tradeoffs across scalability, maintainability, performance, reliability, security, and developer experience
• Communicate technical reasoning clearly in writing (including alternatives considered)
• Collaborate with the customer’s team on technical reviews and implementation decisions
• Adapt quickly to new codebases, frameworks, and technical requirements

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on software engineering experience
• Strong experience in at least one backend/full-stack environment, such as Go/Golang, JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js, Java, C#/.NET, C++, Ruby, PHP, or similar
• Experience building/maintaining/reviewing production-level applications, APIs/services, databases, or integrations
• Solid fundamentals in debugging, testing, code quality, architecture, and tradeoffs
• Ability to explain complex engineering decisions clearly and objectively
• Comfortable reading and reasoning through unfamiliar code/requirements

Preferred Qualifications

• Cloud experience: AWS, GCP, or Azure
• CI/CD, DevOps workflows, containers, monitoring, or production operations
• Frontend experience: React, Next.js, Angular, Vue, or React Native
• Open-source or public GitHub contributions and/or technical writing
• Experience mentoring, performing code reviews, and making architecture decisions
