Go/Golang Developer - Remote

Role Overview

Contractor software engineering role (10–12 hours/week, Remote). You’ll help train and evaluate next-generation AI systems through practical software engineering tasks, including reasoning through unfamiliar codebases and communicating engineering decisions clearly.

Responsibilities

• Work on backend, full-stack, systems, and infrastructure-related engineering tasks
• Review, debug, improve, and explain code across different technical environments
• Design or evaluate solutions involving:
  • APIs, databases, services, integrations
  • Testing and deployment workflows
• Assess tradeoffs across:
  • Scalability, maintainability, performance, reliability, security, and developer experience
• Write clear technical explanations (why a solution works and alternatives considered)
• Collaborate with the customer’s team on technical reviews and problem-solving exercises
• Quickly adapt to new codebases, frameworks, and requirements

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on software engineering experience
• Strong backend or full-stack experience in one or more of: Go, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js, Java, C#, .NET, C++, Ruby, PHP (or similar)
• Experience building/maintaining/reviewing production applications, APIs, services, databases, and integrations
• Strong fundamentals in debugging, testing, code quality, architecture, and technical tradeoffs
• Ability to explain complex engineering decisions clearly and objectively
• Comfort reading and reasoning through unfamiliar code/requirements

Preferred Qualifications

• Cloud experience: AWS, GCP, or Azure
• CI/CD and DevOps workflows; containers; monitoring; production operations
• Frontend experience: React, Next.js, Angular, Vue, or React Native
• Open-source/public GitHub contributions, technical writing, or strong prior work samples
• Mentoring, code reviews, and experience making architecture decisions
