Go/Golang Developer - Remote

Role Overview

Contractor software engineering role (10–12 hours/week, Remote). You will help train and evaluate next-generation AI systems by completing real-world software engineering tasks—especially tasks where you can reason through unfamiliar codebases and clearly explain engineering decisions.

Responsibilities

• Work on backend, full-stack, systems, infrastructure, and related engineering tasks
• Review, debug, improve, and explain code across different technical environments
• Design or evaluate solutions involving:
  • APIs, databases, services, and integrations
  • Testing approaches
  • Deployment workflows
• Identify and discuss tradeoffs across:
  • Scalability, maintainability, performance, reliability
  • Security and developer experience
• Communicate technical reasoning clearly in writing (what works, why, and alternatives considered)
• Collaborate with the customer’s team on technical reviews and implementation decisions
• Adapt quickly to new codebases, frameworks, and technical requirements

Required Skills / Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on software engineering experience
• Strong experience in at least one backend or full-stack environment, including Go/Golang (primary), or related options such as JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js, Java, C#, .NET, C++, Ruby, PHP, or similar
• Experience building/maintaining/reviewing production-level applications, APIs, services, databases, or integrations
• Strong fundamentals: debugging, testing, code quality, architecture, and technical tradeoffs
• Ability to clearly and objectively explain complex engineering decisions
• Comfortable reading and reasoning through unfamiliar codebases/requirements

Preferred Qualifications

• Cloud experience (AWS, GCP, Azure)
• CI/CD and DevOps workflows; containers; monitoring; production operations
• Frontend framework experience (React, Next.js, Angular, Vue, or React Native)
• Open-source contributions, strong public GitHub work, technical writing
• Experience mentoring engineers, reviewing code, or making architecture decisions
