About the role
Role Overview
Join a customer’s team as a Go Developer to help evaluate and train next-generation AI coding tools in confidential alpha stages. This is a part-time, remote role focused on technical exploration, hands-on Go development, and careful testing/documentation.
Responsibilities
- Build REST and GraphQL endpoints using a modern Go backend stack
- Perform data validation and implement comprehensive error handling
- Run database migrations and performance optimization
- Test and evaluate alpha AI models in Cursor, across multiple 4-day bursts (with 5+ hours/day)
- Identify and document incidents, bugs, and edge cases using reports, bug traces, and annotated screenshots
- Collaborate with the research team via Slack, providing real-time feedback and insights
- Complete structured surveys on impressions and model usability after each testing burst
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional experience as a Golang/Go Developer
- Strong command of Go, REST APIs, GraphQL, and backend best practices
- Experience with AI-powered coding tools (and ideally Cursor)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Enthusiasm for hands-on coding, rapid prototyping, and technical curiosity
- Experience with data validation, robust error handling, and complex debugging
- Ability to document findings thoroughly without sharing confidential information
Preferred Qualifications
- Public contributions to notable open-source projects (e.g., GitHub)
- Prior experience evaluating technical products or developer tool QA
- Interest in mentoring and sharing insights with high-trust research teams
