GNC Software Intern

Role Overview

GNC Software Intern to support the design, testing, verification, and validation of spacecraft Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) systems for The Exploration Company’s Nyx orbital vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Support the design and development of the AOCS/GNC subsystem for spacecraft and missions
• Develop, test, and validate GNC algorithms
• Contribute to implementation and testing of GNC software within the Flight Software framework
• Help develop and maintain spacecraft simulation environments and 6-degree-of-freedom (6-DOF) models
• Perform performance analysis, trade studies, and mission assessments
• Participate in verification & validation activities, including:
  • simulation campaigns
  • unit testing
  • Software-in-the-Loop (SiL) testing
• Support hardware modeling, integration, and performance evaluation
• Develop and improve software tools to automate analysis, testing, and reporting
• Analyze simulation/test results and document findings and recommendations
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams and join technical reviews

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a BSc or MSc in Aerospace Engineering, Control Engineering, Robotics, Applied Mathematics, Physics, or related field
• Strong understanding of dynamics, orbital mechanics, flight mechanics, or control systems
• Programming experience in C++ and Python
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; proactive and eager to learn
• Passion for advancing the commercial space industry
• Good communication skills and English fluency
