About the role

Role overview

CapsLock is building a new AI Media Production platform for generating visuals of real products with 1:1 accuracy (no artifacts, hallucinations, or “close enough”). This is a greenfield build, and you’ll be the Tech Lead and first engineer in this direction, partnering directly with the Design Director as the technical interface between creative and software teams.

Responsibilities

Architect and run the AI Media Production platform:
- Serve ComfyUI (or similar engines) and manage GPU environments
- Build one-click UIs for non-technical teams
Ship modular, versioned, reproducible generative pipelines (node-based and/or code-first, e.g., Diffusers)
Create one-click presets and production use cases for image and video generation
Train LoRAs end-to-end from real product photography through evaluation to production-ready models
Implement control-first generation in every pipeline:
- ControlNet, IP-Adapter, inpainting, and reference conditioning
Engineer QC directly into the pipeline via automated checks against product references before human review
Build a creative intelligence loop to encode what makes top-performing assets work into reusable presets/styles
Own the technical roadmap with the Design Director:
- Qualify new models/tools
- Drive adoption through enablement, not mandates

Must-haves

Shipped generative pipelines that are adopted and used daily by others
Production-grade workflows in ComfyUI (or similar) or equivalent code-first experience (e.g., Diffusers)
Strong Python skills (automation, API integrations, custom nodes)
End-to-end LoRA training (dataset curation through evaluation)
Control techniques across modalities (t2i, i2i, t2v, v2v) including ControlNet, IP-Adapter, inpainting, and reference conditioning
Ability to deploy pipelines as internal tools
Enough visual literacy to set and validate quality bar
Confident English (B2+)

Nice to have

3D/render-hybrid workflows (Blender or CAD renders as geometric ground truth)
LLM orchestration / agentic workflows (automated prompt generation, VLM-based QC)
Experience producing visuals for performance marketing
